چکیده
It is more common to introduce the parapet/recurve/wave return wall over existing structure, such as a vertical seawall or composite reduce overtopping efficiently. The advantage of recurve on top sea has been studied in past regards wave interaction and overtopping. However, their efficiency protecting inland structure during extreme events flooding tsunami unexplored. present study addresses effect with reducing dam break surge simulating tsunami-induced forces an structure. compares momentum transferred landward behind Vertical seaWall (VW) Large ReCurve (LRC) overtopped conditions. outcome from numerical simulation shows insignificant contribution due LRC force compared VW, albeit delaying impact time. performed slightly better case low-rise located near than VW. Furthermore, VW increases overturning moment no-wall Both reduced horizontal linearly increase height. An exponential decrease was observed height LRC. Design equations are proposed for reduction based

متن کاملthe effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends
flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
Experimental Investigation of the Effect of Vertical Tail on the Flow Field and Aerodynamic Forces of a fighter Model
An intensive experimental investigation was conducted to study the effect of vertical tail, single and twin (with different cant angles) on the flow field and the corresponding aerodynamic forces and moments of a model of a fighter A/C. Aerodynamic forces under different flight conditions and different vertical tail settings were measured in a supersonic wind tunnel. Furthermore, effects of ver...

متن کاملInvestigating the Amount of Forces Caused by Solitary Waves on Coastal Walls Using OpenFOAM Software
Coastal walls (dyke) are one of the methods of protecting the coast against coastal erosion and destructive forces of waves. The purpose of this study is to simulate the wave collision with the coastal dyke and compare the results with the laboratory model. Open FOAM open source software and K-ω SST turbulence model were used to simulate the amount of wave consumed by the coastal dyke. Taking i...
